MHI Vestas Offshore is looking for an ECM/BoM facilitator responsible for the ECM process in our Nacelle factory, where controlling the inflow of ECRs and securing an updated BoM will be your highest priorities. The job will also involve coordinating and assisting the implementation of new ECO’s. This position will make sure of a fluent communication between the ECM process and the production entity. You will be a part of the Production Excellence (PEX) Department, which is a part of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind Manufacturing.
You will be the key point of contact to ensure that Nacelle manufacturing produce according to the correct M-BoM at all times as well as communicating coming changes in due time to make sure that potential impact on specifications, sourcing, production, inventory and work instructions are communicated and implemented in due time. You will also make the necessary control of the ECO prior to release to make sure that the quality of drawings and specifications are at the right level.
You will be responsible for creating the M-BoM and the routing in close cooperation with local PE.
You will be the local contact ensuring that all workers are familiar with the CRM (Case Registration Management) system and that it is used in the correct manner holding the right information to make sure that the ECRs can be created in the best possible way.
You will be in close contact with the other PEX colleagues responsible for the case handling and monitoring of the ECM process and Product Development in order to assess the impact and decide when the changes can/shall be implemented.
You will also support your colleagues in the ECM process for other areas of the WTG.
You will have a broad range of contacts within the manufacturing and sourcing area but also with other areas of the organization, for instance HSE, Quality etc.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Engineering Change Management (ECM)
- Control the CRM inflow and bundle where relevant
- Test the relevance of the
case and impact on Sourcing, Design etc. and assess whether case should be
converted into ECR’s involving the right people in the decision process.
- Create ECR’s and ensure high quality of ECR’s forwarded in the
- Assist in making ECN tasks and communicate impact and timeline to
- Follow the ECO status based on the weekly ECO reports and
mitigate changes of deadlines.
Manage the Bill of Material (BoM)
- Monitor the release of the BoM for design change implementation on Nacelles
- Make the transfer from the E-BoM to the M-BoM in close connection with local PE
- Make sure that ECO implementation and follow-up is aligned with production.
- Secure that the nacelle production is producing according to correct BoM
We expect you to have experience with wind turbine production and the related ECM/BoM process and also the making of the M-BoM. We expect you to have good technical understanding and experience and knowledge about IT systems related to the ECM/BoM Process. Experience with CAD is an advantage. We also expect that you have a good understanding of the value chain and the impact on sourcing and production from changes made on design and specifications.
As a person you are detail oriented and at the same time good at maintaining the overview of complex tasks. You are able to work in a meticulous and persistent manner both individually and in groups. You are both result and project oriented. You are good at communicating with your colleagues.
You preferably have a background from Nacelle manufacturing and also a technical background/education.
