HSE Coordinator, Aarhus

Location: Denmark, Aarhus

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator with great knowledge within areas of HSE matters e.g. implementing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work for designated sites. As a HSE Coordinator you will be in touch with the Head of HSE and directly communicate with site personnel in regards to safety awareness and improvement of safety culture.

Responsibilities and tasks
As a HSE coordinator you will be involved in various health, safety and environmental tasks.

The specific tasks that you could encounter are as follows

  • Ensuring consistency of HSE Support throughout their designated site whilst
    meeting company requirements.
  • Provide HSE information and guidance to all
    levels of the company.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the site HSE
  • Supporting the site O&M team carrying out their duties
  • Carry out site inspections and audits
  • Coaching of onsite personnel to
    align company policies and procedures.
  • Coach site personnel to raise safety
    awareness and improve the safety culture.
  • Highlight adverse safety trends and
    ensure adequate safety campaigns are implemented.
  • Participate in industry
    body meetings, seminars and training sessions to increase industry and
    legislative awareness.
  • Represent the company with local government
    organizations related to HSE, in order to ensure a mutual understanding of the
    Company’s goals and requirements, and to work in a cooperative partnership with
    local resources.

Qualifications and work experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a HSE role within a production environment with particular understanding of safety. Experience of setting up a facility or of implementing HSE policies and processes would be an advantage.
Candidates speaking Dutch with good understanding of English language both written and spoken are preferable. Additionally it is required to have a full driving license. You have had experience in managing internal as well as external stakeholders and you have worked in an international environment.

As a person, you are independent, proactive and action-oriented, and at the same time, you see yourself as a team player interested in an independent work culture. You work in a structured manner and can drive several processes simultaneously.
Since you are to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders; the ability to communicate effectively and precise is crucial. In other words, it is important that you are comfortable communicating with people in different levels in the organization and master great presentation skills.
Lastly, you are structured and employs a systematic approach towards assignments and potential obstacles in your way.
