HSE Coordinator

Location: The Nederlands, Ijmuiden

 MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator with great knowledge within areas of HSE matters e.g. implementing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work for designated sites. As a local HSE Coordinator you will directly communicate with site personnel in regards to safety awareness and improvement of safety culture.
Responsibilities and tasks
As a HSE coordinator you will be involved in various health, safety and environmental tasks, supporting the NL sites out of Ijmuiden (NL) office.
Ensuring consistency of HSE Support throughout the designated sites whilst meeting company requirements.
  • Provide HSE information and guidance to all levels.
  • Ensure continuous
    improvement in the site’s HSE performance.
  • Supporting the site’s O&M team
    carrying out their duties
  • Carry out on- & offshore site inspections and
  • Coach site personnel to align company HSE policies and procedures and
    to raise safety awareness and improve the safety culture.
  • Highlight adverse
    safety trends and ensure adequate safety campaigns are implemented.
  • Review
    corporate HSE documents to maintain the HSE Management System (OHSAS 18001 &
    ISO 14000) and to align them with local legislation
  • Conduct HSE trainings and
    support toolbox talks.
  • Carry out Incident Investigations
  • Actively
    contribute in the site’s HSE meetings
Qualifications and work experience
Candidates must be Dutch native speaking with fluent English language skills both written and spoken. Holding a professional HSE qualification is a must. (Preferably HVK or PA level 1)  You have had experience in managing internal as well as external stakeholders and you have worked in an international environment. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a HSE role within a production or service environment with particular understanding of safety. Experience in implementing HSE policies and processes would be an advantage. Having a full driving license is a must, as you will be required to travel between both locations.
As a person, you are independent, proactive and action-oriented, and at the same time, you see yourself as a team player interested in an independent work culture. You work in a structured manner and can drive several processes simultaneously.
Since you are to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders; the ability to communicate effectively and precise is crucial. In other words, it is important that you are comfortable communicating with people in different levels in the organization and master great presentation skills.
Lastly, you are structured and employs a systematic approach towards assignments and potential obstacles in your way.
