MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for an experienced Logistics Lead with knowledge and expertise within areas of managing a logistics team in a manufacturing environment and furthermore desire to take ownership of the logistics- and warehouse processes at our new blades facility in Nakskov. Reporting to the Logistics Director; you will be a key member of the factory management team. Responsibilities and tasks
The Logistics Lead will be responsible for managing the logistics process including sourcing, buying, goods receipt and warehouse to ensure materials are ready as required to meet the production schedule.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows.
- Motivating shift leads
and operatives to work safely and deliver materials to the required quality
standards on schedule.
- Maintain high safety standards and work with the HSE
department to report incidents and manage risks out of the process.
- Be aware
of Non-Conforming materials and implement corrective actions.
- Manage the
annual cycle of People Review, Motivation & Performance dialogues, Salary
- Analyse MRP in relation to requirements of the commodity, including
lead-time, order size, securing supplier is delivering in relation to the latest
Technical Purchasing Specification (TPS).
- Coordinate all activities related
to replenishment of all BOM commodities.
- Negotiates Logistic agreements with
- Establish processes to ensure commodity is delivered on schedule,
at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
- Responsible for the control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and
other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
- Minimize inventory
values and always secure/optimise the inventory/ supply chain.
- Apply Lean
tools to processes.
- Evaluate material usage and initiates BOM changes and
process improvements as needed.
- Assist with ongoing projects such as Kanban
set-up, uncontrolled floor stock and backflushing.
- Makes the weekly reporting
Qualifications and work experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience of logistics management in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional qualification in Purchasing and supply chain is preferred, e.g.
Bachelor of Science/Administration in Business Administration or SCM.
sigma experience (minimum Green Belt).
Strong communication skills, with fluent English (written and oral) and comfortable communicating to all levels in the organisation.
You have the drive and the personality to continuously motivate and coach your team towards agreed KPI.
You are a team player and understand how to work in line- and matrix-organizations
Understanding of safety and quality processes and additionally reporting
One must be able to use Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Attention to detail is essential, but as a manager you must be able to step back and let the organization deliver while you secure the overview.
