Maintenance Technician, Isle of Wight

Location: UK, Isle of Wight

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for a Maintenance Technician with experience of working safely in a 24 hour manufacturing environment. Ideally you will have experience working with electrical and mechanical machinery, power tools and lifting equipment. We will operate 3 shifts covering 24 hours 5 days per week. You will have the opportunity to develop a career in a global group with a very exciting industry and record breaking product.

Responsibilities and tasks
The Maintenance Technicians will work in shifts in small teams of two, maintaining all the production tools and equipment
  • The manufacturing processes involve the use of epoxy based resin and hardeners, therefore this position may not be suitable for persons who have previously had a recorded reaction to such products.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Maintaining electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical equipment and hand
    tools.
  • Maintain calibration/measurement equipment and
    systems.
  • Interrogation of PLC controllers and systems.
  • Administer the
    maintenance systems, with planned maintenance activities as well as responding
    to breakdowns.
  • Keeping the work area safe and clean, making use of 5S
    methodology.
  • Contribute to supplier evaluation.

Qualifications and work experience
The ideal candidate should have proven experience of equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Formal qualifications (HND/HNC/City & Guilds) would be an advantage, but are not a requirement.
Electrical qualifications would be of particular interest.
Ability to work in shifts is essential.
