SCADA Engineering is part of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind Operations and supports the organisation in selling, installing and servicing a number of SCADA systems controlling wind power plants offshore.
Our customers are mainly found among large power supply companies and professional investors. You and your colleagues play a key role in securing the solidity of the SCADA systems that wind power plants rely on.
Responsibilities and tasks
As a SCADA Specialist, your primary task is to support existing service sites in troubleshooting both when urgent help is needed and in preventing future problems. You support upgrades as well as the planning and execution of new SCADA projects. Your responsibilities will e.g. be:
- Support to internal customer management
- Direct support to clients
- Soft and
- Remote and on-site troubleshooting in cooperation with the
local service team
- Managing site requests for SCADA support
documentation and procedures
- Management of users and levels
- Ad hoc tasks
Professional and personal qualifications
We are looking for a person with a theoretical background within database maintenance, industrial network administration or control and automation systems. You need to have experience from the energy sector or a similar industry and a minimum of 3 years’ experience within SCADA engineering – preferably combined with VESTAS SCADA technology. You also need to have a solid basis within installation and maintenance of automation systems, and knowledge of the wind turbine industry is an advantage. We expect in-depth knowledge of industrial automations, PLC hardware, network structure, SCADA systems and communication interfaces. The ideal candidate is familiar with working in an international environment and is able to understand and respect cultural differences. You have user experience with the Microsoft Office package and preferably Dynamics.

You are analytical and result- oriented, and you have a structured and systematic approach to your work. You motivate others by being a good example, and you are able to act proactively and work independently. Consequently, you have excellent English skills, both in writing and speech.
