MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is looking for an experienced stores person to take on the Warehouse Operative role. Reporting to the Warehouse Lead; you will work on a shift to ensure materials are delivered on schedule to the production line. You will have the opportunity to develop a career in an international company within an exciting industry.
Responsibilities and tasks
The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for maintaining the warehouse storage, to ensure materials are ready as required to meet the production schedule.
Your main responsibilities will be
- Maintain high safety standards and work with the HSE department to report
incidents and highlight risks so they can be managed appropriately.
- Be aware
of Non-Conforming materials and alert the Warehouse Lead.
- Understand the
production schedule for the coming shift and know the material movement plans to
deliver materials to the line in the required quantity.
- Ensure paperwork is
- Report on material usage and suggest BOM changes and process
improvements as needed.
- Maintain the warehouse and material stacking to
ensure optimum access and usability.
- Apply 5S principles and
- Assist with ongoing projects such as Kanban set-up, uncontrolled
floor stock and backflushing.
Qualifications and work experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience of working in stores in a manufacturing environment.
- 5S qualifications or other Lean methodology will be an advantage.
and other lifting equipment certification will be essential.
The candidates are to be education and trained in English, which is why a candidate who understands English is preferable. It is inevitable to be a team player and one must comprehend working in line- and matrix organizations. Moreover understanding of safety and quality processes and reporting is crucial. Lastly, the candidate should be able to use Microsoft Office more specifically Excel.
